The case against a Kingaroy man charged with making and possessing a “large volume” of child exploitation material, which allegedly depicted the sexual abuse of babies and toddlers, has progressed in Kingaroy Magistrates Court.

Ryan Potts, 26, was charged with more than a dozen offences in October after detectives from Argos and the Kingaroy Child Protection and Investigation Unit allegedly searched a Kingaroy property.

Mr Potts was charged with four counts of possessing child exploitation material, five counts of making child exploitation material, three counts of using a carriage service to access child abuse material and three counts of using a carriage service to distribute child abuse material.

The case was mentioned in the Kingaroy court on Monday.

Magistrate Andrew Sinclair ordered a full brief of evidence be prepared by February 10.

The case is due to be mentioned again on March 3.

Lawyer Kristy Bell appeared via phone on behalf of Mr Potts, who was not required to appear in person.

His bail was enlarged until his next court date.
