Police are on the hunt after suspicious drone activity was reported by landowners who spotted the devices hovering overhead in the early hours of the morning.

Kumbia police officer-in-charge Todd Armstrong confirmed officers were investigating the concerning reports.

“Kumbia Police are investigating a report of two drones with spotlights attached being flown over properties near Benair Road and Reedy Ck Road between midnight and 2.15am on Saturday morning (April 2),” he said.

Senior Constable Armstrong said there hadn’t been any further reports in the Kumbia region.

But he warned locals to stay on the lookout.

“Kumbia Police are advising property owners to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity,” he said.

He also urged drone owners to visit the CASA website and ensure they understood and followed the rule and regulations around owning and using a drone.
