A man who threatened to assault a woman during a shocking public outburst over a couple bucks has turned on a magistrate when he faced court, unleashing a wild rant where he called His Honour ‘ignorant’.

Bad Boys of Brisbane exposed

A Kingaroy man who threatened to break a woman’s nose over a $2 bill turned on a magistrate when he attempted to save the man from himself during an escalating rant.

Adrian John Kurtz, 45, started abusing a staff member at a Kingaroy post office when he was asked to pay $2.60 to collect his parcel on February 28.

Kingaroy Magistrates Court was told witnesses watched on as Kurtz began swearing at staff and accusing them of trying to rob him, before threatening to break one terrified woman’s nose with his forehead.

Lawyer Mark Werner said Kurtz became agitated when he was asked to pay the $2.60 postage fee for an item he bought on eBay and maintained was meant to be paid by the seller.

“He thought it wasn’t really his problem and they should be getting the money from the person at the other end,” Mr Werner said.

Magistrate Andrew Sinclair attempted to hand down his sentence and prevent tensions escalating further in the courtroom, but the 45-year-old demanded to speak.

“You’re assumption that I’m going to make it worse is just ignorant,” Kurtz told the court.

“I paid everything that I’m required to. Therefore I legally possess that item.

“Therefore they’re creating theft, which is causing me damage by holding my package, which is actually extortion.”

Kurtz pleaded guilty to public nuisance and was fined $350.
