Kingaroy crime: 17 year old allegedly assaulted, robbed in late night mugging

Police say two young men pounced on a 17-year-old in the drive-by assault and robbery of a teenage boy riding his electric scooter. Here’s what happened:

A teenager was allegedly assaulted and robbed by two other young men who stole his electric scooter in a brazen night time attack on a Kingaroy street.

The 17-year-old was riding his electric scooter on Gooyong St at 8.40pm on Wednesday, June 1, when the incident occurred.

A red Holden sedan pulled in front of the boy and it is alleged one of the occupants jumped out of the vehicle, punched the boy and stole the scooter.

Police executed search warrants at Youngman and Prince Street addresses following the incident.

A 19-year-old Memerambi man will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on June 23, charged with robbery, possession of dangerous drugs, possessing drug utensils and possession of property used in the commission of a drug offence.

A 17-year-old Kingaroy boy has been dealt with the under the Youth Justice Act for assault and drug offences.
