A man who posted intimate images of his ex-girlfriend on social media after they broke up was outed when his own daughter dobbed him in to the victim.

The victim received a message from Damien McLean’s daughter in December 2020, which said there were photos of the victim in g-strings on McLean’s facebook.

The eight images showed the victim wearing underwear and bikinis, and included close up shots of her genitalia covered by the underwear.

McLean and the woman had split in September that year.

Just a day before the victim found the revenge porn in facebook posts, McLean had emailed her with the subject, “Why are you always smiling in your videos if you hate me”.

Police prosecutor Lisa Manns told the court the message told the victim to look at his YouTube channels where she found several intimate videos of herself lifting her dress to expose her underwear to the camera.

“In one video the defendant asks the victim to spread her legs and moves the camera towards her groin area,” Sgt Manns said.

Despite acknowledging he had no permission to post the images and videos, McLean told police he didn’t think there was a problem “as there was no nudity”.

He also said he had uploaded the videos to his YouTube account so he could watch them on his television, and admitted posting the images to a “bikini website”.

The 49-year-old pleaded guilty to one count of distributing intimate images.

He was sentenced to six months’ probation.
