Woman transported to hospital after motorcycle crash in Mitchell

A rider was injured in a morning crash outside Roma, with emergency services offering some insight into the suspected cause. Here’s what we know so far:

A woman has been hospitalised after crashing her motorcycle in Mitchell during the early hours of Monday.

The rider, aged in her 50s was taken to Mitchell Hospital about 5am, after coming off the bike on the corner of Winchester and Ann streets.

A QAS spokeswoman confirmed the woman was the only person involved.

“It was a single-vehicle crash and the woman was transported in a stable condition with an ankle injury,” she said.

“We believe the tyre on her bike blew out while she was riding.”
