Emergency crews are still working on the scene of a single vehicle garbage truck roll over just north of Roma on the Carnarvon Highway.

Fire crews were the first to arrive on scene after they were called at 8.25am on Friday morning.

A QFES spokeswoman said the rollover happened in Bymont near the Ashneys Road exit of the Carnarvon Highway.

“We called QAS for back up just after 9am, but when we arrived the driver of the vehicle was out of the truck and uninjured,” she said.

“The truck rolled off the highway and seems to have overturned.

“The road is clear but when we got there, there was liquid leaking - fuel - across the road.

“We’re just working to clean up the scene.

A QPS spokesman said local police arrived as back up, but were not needed.

“The highway is not blocked at all,” he said.

“A crane has been organised to come and remove the truck. It won’t be today, but because of the truck’s location off the road and that it’s secure it can sit there for some time.”
