Fire crews have raced back to the scene of a vegetation fire at Bouldercombe after it reignited on Thursday afternoon.
Three Queensland Fire and Emergency Service crews were called back to the site on the Burnett Hwy at the corner of Quinn Rd where a “well involved” car fire that had morning sparked grassland on both sides of the road.
The fire reignited about 12.35pm and was understood to be travelling up a hill and aerial support had been requested by fire crews.
Emergency crews were initially called to the car fire about 7.30am.
A Queensland Police Service spokesman said the driver was travelling on Quinn Rd towards the highway when their vehicle started smoking under the bonnet and then ignited.
Vegetation was also burning on both sides of the highway.
There were no reports of injury, and traffic was being diverted around the scene.
A local tanker was called in at 8.30am to help control the fire.
Fire crews had the initial blaze under control at 9.50am.
