Truck rollover on Capricorn Highway at Westwood

A man has been flown to hospital in a rescue helicopter after a crash on a Central Queensland highway where a truck carrying steel rolled over.

A man has been flown to hospital in a rescue helicopter after a crash on the Capricorn Highway where a truck carrying steel rolled over.

QAS and Queensland Fire Department were called to the truck rollover southwest of Rockhampton at 3.30pm.

It is understood the accident occurred near the corner of the Capricorn and Leichhardt highways at Westwood.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said paramedics attended to a man in his 40s – from the truck – who was suffering hip pain.

He said Rescue 300 was tasked to the rollover and that the man was airlifted to Rockhampton Hospital in a stable condition.
