Two people, a man and a boy, were taken to Rockhampton Hospital with serious injuries following separate incidents in the Rockhampton region on Saturday evening.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said a male motorcyclist in his 50s sustained “life-threatening injuries” in a crash at the corner of Ironpot Rd and Yeppoon Rd, Ironpot, around 5.40pm.
The injured man was attended to by paramedics before being taken to Rockhampton Hospital.

A Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service spokeswoman on Monday said the man was in a stable condition.

Later in the evening, at 6.45pm, paramedics were called to a private address in Norman Gardens following a bicycle incident involving a primary school-aged boy.

The boy suffered a head injury in the accident and was also taken to Rockhampton Hospital.

The CQHHS spokeswoman said the boy had been discharged from hospital.
