A million-dollar home perched on the side of a hill in Yeppoon, fittingly titled The Castle, has sold twice in four months, with its latest sale up $85,000.

A million-dollar home in Yeppoon, fittingly titled The Castle, has sold twice in four months, with its latest sale up $85,000.

The hillside home at 19 Bartlem Street, Yeppoon, was listed for sale in March 2022 for the first time since its completion in 1998.

It sold for $1 million on August 19, 2022 through Pat O’Driscoll Real Estate.

The sale settled on September 19, 2022 and the home was back on the market shortly after.

It most recently sold on December 19, 2022 for $1.085 million and settled in January.

The design of the two-storey home was “inspired by castles in England and travels to the Mediterranean” and it boasts four bedrooms, two bathrooms, an expansive living area and kitchen, as well as internal columns, chandelier and two seaview balconies.

The home also has a secret entrance leading to an underground wine cellar and storage below the first floor, as well as a wrought iron spiral staircase up to the turret of the home and circular office, with views to the north.

Situated on 1350 sqm, the home features ocean views from almost every room, even from the outside saltwater pool.

This sale has been followed a handful of million-dollar residential sales on the Capricorn Coast.

A split-level home overlooking Cooee Bay Beach and the ocean beyond at 2 Ocean Parade, Cooee Bay, sold for $1.55 million on January 16 through Ray White Rockhampton.

An architecturally-designed home at 37 Saltwater Court, Mulambin, sold for $1.207 million prior to auction on January 25 through The Agency CQ.

A tri-level home at 37 Bayview Drive, Lammermoor, has also sold for $1.6 million on February 4 through @ Real Estate Yeppoon.

Professionals Emu Park principal Kevin Doolan said the real estate market on the Capricorn Coast was still very strong.

“It is no different to last year,” Mr Doolan said.

“There are still more buyers than sellers and they are still coming from everywhere.

“There is a huge percentage of cash buyers and people still want to relocate to the coast. They are just constantly ringing up.

“Interest rates haven’t really affected us at all.

“There is no sign of it stopping. It just seems to be constant.”
