Timothy Daryl Barron: Biloela children’s sports coach charged with drug trafficking, supply

Witnesses in the matter of a Central Queensland jumping castle business owner charged with trafficking and supplying cocaine and marijuana are scheduled to be cross-examined.

Witnesses in an alleged drug trafficker’s court case will likely be cross-examined during a special hearing next month.

Biloela man Timothy Daryl Barron is charged 55 counts of supplying dangerous drugs, two counts of trafficking in dangerous drugs, possessing anything used in the commission of crime, and possessing property suspected of being proceeds of an offence under the Drugs Misuse Act.

The allegations involve cocaine and marijuana.

During a mention of in Rockhampton Magistrates Court on February 8, police prosecutor David Longhurst said the prosecution and Mr Barron’s lawyers had almost finished discussions needed to get the matter ready for a committal hearing.

Magistrate Cameron Press scheduled the matter for March 27.

During Mr Barron’s successful bail application hearing in July 2021, defence lawyer Rebecca Harris said her client was the breadwinner for his wife and three children.

She said he was a volunteer football coach at Biloela State School, ran a jumping castle business with his wife, and was a 15-year mine worker now employed at an engineering firm.
