Rockhampton detectives investigate “serious” back-to-back assaults at Kershaw Gardens

Detectives are calling for help to identify two people who may be able to help after two men were assaulted in a Rockhampton park.

Detectives are calling for help from the public after two people suffered “serious injuries” in back to back attacks in a Rockhampton park.

Multiple paramedic units were called to a Park Avenue address early Sunday morning following reports two men had been assaulted, one suffering head and chest injuries, in separate attacks.

Police are investigating after two people allegedly approached a man sleeping in a tent in Kershaw Gardens about 4.30am, demanded property from him and then physically assaulted him.

It is further alleged they then approached a second man sitting on a park bench about 100m away, demanded property and physically assaulted him.

A Queensland Police Service media statement says both men received “serious injuries”.

Rockhampton police are trying to identify these two people who may be able to assist them with their investigations into a serious assault.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said multiple paramedic units were called to the assaults and both men were taken in a stable condition, one with head and chest injuries, to Rockhampton Hospital.

The Rockhampton Criminal Investigation Branch is calling for public help to identify two people (pictured) who may be able to assist them with their investigations into the two assaults on February 2.

Detectives are appealing to the people pictured, or anyone who recognises them, to contact police.

Further, anyone who witnessed the incidents or has CCTV footage of the area at the time are also urged to contact police.
