Rockhampton police have launched investigations after a local service station was broken into in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

About 4.15am offenders broke into the Menzies service station on Dean Street at Frenchville.

A spokeswoman for Queensland Police Service said entry to the service station was “forced” via a glass door.

A quantity of cigarettes were also stolen.

Images of the scene show a cabinet, which was used to store cigarettes, had sustained damage and was taken off the wall.

The internal trays can also be seen loose within the cabinet.

Investigations into the break in are ongoing.
