Thieves went postal on the Red Hill Rockhampton Post Shop front doors, smashing one so violently it was forced off its hinge, to get inside the store and steal a number of items.
Police are investigating the burglary at the Yaamba Rd premises on July 4.
A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said it occurred at 2.20am yesterday morning.
“Police are investigating a break and enter at a business on Yaamba Road, Red Hill,” she said.
“Entry was forced via a glass door and a quantity of goods were stolen.
“Anyone with information that could assist with police investigations, are urged to contact police.
“Investigations are ongoing.”
Australia Post confirmed they had reported the incident to police and referred this publication to the Queensland Police Service.
They did not comment on what was stolen.
