An update in the case of a Central Queensland woman accused of murdering her two-year-old stepson, has been heard by a Rockhampton court.
Alicia Jane Lee, 23, was charged in February with one count of murder over the death of two-year-old Rockhampton boy Logan Shaun Hawkins.
Emergency services were called to a Frenchville address on January 18 and Logan was taken to Rockhampton Hospital.
He was then transferred to the Queensland Children’s Hospital in Brisbane, where he died the following day.
Ms Lee was charged over his death in February following police investigations.
In Rockhampton Magistrates Court on Wednesday (September 7, 2022), Ms Lee’s matter was mentioned before Acting Magistrate Ron Muirhead.
Ms Lee was not required to attend.
Police prosecutor Stacey Bain said a pathologist report was required.
“It’s not going to be here until late January,” Ms Bain said.
Solicitor Lachlan Robertson then requested an adjournment until late February.
Mr Muirhead said he would adjourn the matter to December 14 for further mention and both the prosecution and Mr Robertson agreed with that course.
The court heard that Ms Lee was on Supreme Court bail and Mr Muirhead said that bail would continue.
The acting magistrate noted that Ms Lee would not be required to attend court on the next occasion.
