A number of motorists have been convicted in Rockhampton Magistrates Court recently for drug driving or drink driving and had traffic convictions recorded.

Lucas Joseph Clanfield, 19, had marijuana in his system when he was intercepted driving along Mclaughlin St, Gracemere, on April 8 at 3.55pm.

Clanfield pleaded guilty to the single drug driving charge in Rockhampton Magistrates Court on May 29.

Police prosecutor Senior Constable Sarah Rowe said Clanfield told police he had smoked four cones of marijuana the previous night.

Clanfield was fined $350 and disqualified from driving for three months.

Jason Raymond Maxwell Watson, 19, was unlicensed and had a blood-alcohol content reading of .087 when approached by police while in the driver’s seat of a car parked on East St, Rockhampton, on May 20 at 11.25pm.

Watson pleaded guilty in Rockhampton Magistrates Court on May 29 to three charges including drink driving and driving without a licence.

Senior Constable Rowe said Watson told police he wasn’t driving and was just sitting in the car and that checks revealed Watson’s driver’s licence was disqualified for three months in Rockhampton Magistrates Court on March 1 for drink driving.

She said Watson told police he had drunk a six pack of apple cider.

Watson was ordered to probation for 12 months and disqualified from driving for two years and six months with convictions recorded.

Aaron James Cooke, 27, had marijuana in his system when he was intercepted driving along Alma St, Rockhampton, on April 6 at 7.45am.

Cooke pleaded guilty to the single drug driving charge in Rockhampton Magistrates Court on May 29.

He told the court he had been prescribed medicinal marijuana.

He was fined $350 and disqualified from driving for one month.

Isaac Ezekiel Rammi, 21, had marijuana in his system when he was intercepted driving on Moores Creek Rd, Park Avenue, on April 6 about 5.40pm.

The forklift operator at JBS meatworks held a provisional license.

He was fined $500 and disqualified from driving for three months.

A traffic conviction was recorded.

Samuel Todd Howard had marijuana and methamphetamine in his system when he was intercepted driving on French Ave, Frenchville, about 12.10pm on April 7.

Howard told the court he had seen his doctor about assistance to help him rid illicit drugs from his life.

He was fined $450 and disqualified from driving for three months.

A traffic conviction was recorded.

Terence Edward Ganter had marijuana in his system when he was intercepted driving a white HiLux at Dumgree on the Dawson Highway on February 21 about 2.45pm.

He told police he smoked marijuana two days prior to the intercept.

Ganter told the court he worked for a food distribution company.

The court heard he had a prior conviction from 2016 for the same offending.

Ganter was fined $450 for this offence and disqualified from driving for two months.

A traffic conviction was recorded.

Moss Allen, 22, had marijuana in his system when he was intercepted driving a gold Ford Falcon at Ormeau on March 23.

He told the court he worked as a carney, travelling around.

Allen was disqualified from driving for three months and fined $450.

A traffic conviction was recorded.
