Traffic offenders who faced Yeppoon Magistrates Court

A drink driver who blew a reading of .153 at Yeppoon was among the latest offenders to face court to get their punishment.

The following people pleaded guilty recently in Yeppoon Magistrates Court to either drink driving, drug driving or driving without a licence.

Traffic conviction recorded

Brett Andrew Mazzer, 40

Brett Andrew Mazzer blew a reading of .067 after he was intercepted by police on the Scenic Highway, Kinka Beach, on April 8.

Mazzer pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on May 18 to drink driving.

Mazzer, who works at a Central Queensland mine, was fined $350 and disqualified from driving for one month.

Sharron Lee Smith, 55

Sharron Lee Smith’s driver’s licence was State Penalties Enforcement Registry suspended when she was intercepted by police driving along Wattle Grove, Cooee Bay, on March 26 at 7.30am.

Smith was sentenced in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on May 11 for driving without a licence SPER suspended.

Magistrate Philippa Beckinsale said she had arraigned Smith at her last mention but did not proceed with her plea because she had brought her car to court.

Police prosecutor Sergeant Darrell Dalton said checks revealed Smith’s driver’s licence was SPER suspended from February 15.

Sergeant Dalton said Smith told police she was unaware of the suspension.

Smith was fined $300 and disqualified from driving for one month.

Troy Dallas Cusack, 44

Troy Dallas Cusack had methamphetamine in his system when he was intercepted driving along the Bruce Highway at Mount Larcom on January 10 at 7.20am.

Cusack pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on May 11 to drug driving.

Police prosecutor Sergeant Darrell Dalton said Cusack told police he had ingested ice three days prior to being intercepted.

Cusack was fined $550 and disqualified from driving for three months.

Kodie Edith Payne, 32

Kodie Edith Payne blew a reading of .054 after she was intercepted by police on Rockhampton Road, on April 1.

Payne pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on May 4 to drink driving.

With no prior offending of this sort, Payne was fined $350 and disqualified from driving for one month.

Christopher John Ferguson, 27

Christopher John Ferguson blew a reading of .153 after he was intercepted by police on Mary Street, Yeppoon, on April 1.

Ferguson pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on April 20 to drink driving.

With three prior offences of this sort on his history, Ferguson was fined $1300 and disqualified from driving for 12 months.

Melissa Jane Dingle, 52

Melissa Jane Dingle blew a reading of .093 after she was intercepted by police on the Scenic Highway at Lammermoor, on March 28.

Dingle pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on April 20 to drink driving.

With no offending of this sort in the past five years, Dingle, a cleaner, was fined $500 and disqualified from driving for two months.
