A Rockhampton drug trafficker who sold wholesale amounts of cocaine, MDMA and marijuana has been caught possessing methamphetamine multiple times.

A Rockhampton drug trafficker who sold wholesale amounts of cocaine, MDMA and marijuana has been caught possessing methamphetamine multiple times.

Haydn Geoffory Kleidon, 29, pleaded guilty in Rockhampton Magistrates Court on September 29 to five counts of possessing dangerous drugs and one count each of possessing category R weapons, contravening order about information necessary to access information stored electronically and breaching a bail condition.

According to court documents, Kleidon was found in possession of marijuana, meth, oxycodone and two conducted energy weapons on the Bruce Highway at Bajool on October 18, 2021.

Kleidon was again found in possession of meth and marijuana at an address on Bolsover St, Rockhampton, on November 19, 2021.

He also breached his bail on September 9, 2022 by having an encrypted application, such as Wickr, Snapchat, Signal or WhatsApp, installed on his phone.

Kleidon was sentenced to seven years prison with parole eligibility on February 28, 2024 in the Rockhampton Supreme Court after pleading guilty to one count of trafficking drugs, two of possessing more than two grams of a schedule one drug and several other drug and weapons related charges.

Bank records revealed Kleidon received $19,860 in cash deposits during the trafficking period of April 23, 2021, to November 20, 2021.

Kleidon, who had worked as sandblaster and underground miner, lost employment as a contractor at the mines during Covid, gained employment as a roofer, and wound up hanging with “the wrong crowd”, the Supreme Court heard.

The court heard “this is a clean up exercise”, with Kleidon’s solicitor, Nick Crawford, saying the offences were linked to the Supreme Court matters.

“Some of the offences occurred on different days to what was indicted,” he said.

A conviction was recorded.
