A police Inspector from the Central Region has been suspended from duty with the Queensland Police Service after being charged with an alleged fraud.
The 50-year-old male Inspector was arrested and charged with one count each of fraud and attempt to pervert the course of justice.
He was released on conditional bail and is expected to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on November 24.
“In keeping with our commitment to high standards of behaviour, transparency and accountability, we have undertaken to inform the public when an officer faces serious allegations of misconduct,” a QPS spokesperson said.
“This does not mean that the allegations against the officer have been substantiated.”
The Central Region is made up of two Districts – Capricornia District and Mackay District.
