A mother accused of murdering her own son, allegedly assisted by his brother, told police she was channelling an archangel, court documents reveal.

Alex William Forrest, 20, and his mother Lee-Ann Rae Forrest, 50, have been charged with murder of Cameron Paul Forrest, 24, who died on the Easter long weekend.

Police described the scene in Blaxland Court, Glen Eden, on April 17 as “horrific”.

Alex Forrest had his matter mentioned in Rockhampton Magistrates Court on Wednesday morning, April 20, where he did not appear in person and his lawyer ordered a brief of evidence.

Mr Forrest did not make a bail application and his matters were adjourned until June 8.

An affidavit prepared by police in Mr Forrest’s proceedings outlined the allegations and why police would object to bail.

The document states that while being treated in hospital, Ms Forrest allegedly told police “she channelled the Archangel Michael and that the Archangel Michael stabbed Cameron”.

She had called Queensland Ambulance Service on April 17 about 12.45pm and when they attended, they called police.

The document stated when police arrived, Ms Forrest allegedly presented herself to them with “outstretched arms by her body showing wounds to both wrists”.

Police located Cameron deceased, lying on a bed in the rear bedroom.

According to the court documents he had “significant lacerations to both wrists, his throat and multiple stab-like wounds to his chest”.

Police said they located Alex Forrest inside and he had difficulty breathing along with significant lacerations to both of his wrists.

According to court documents, police body-worn camera captured a conversation between police and Alex.

It is alleged Mr Forrest told police:

“We were going to get kicked out of the house, something to do with the lease.

“It was going to cost too much.

“So, our mum said that we had to end it.

“And me and my brother agreed.

“Umm, umm, gave my brother some pills, but it caused him pain, so then she stabbed him a bunch to end it.”

Police asked him to tell them more about the pills:

“Mum thought it would put him to sleep.”

However, it is alleged the pills caused Cameron pain in his fingernails and toenails.

Police allege Ms Forrest slit Cameron’s throat and he didn’t die, so she stabbed him in the chest and he died instantly.

“I was there, I was next to him, there was blood everywhere, after he died she said me and her had to end it,” Mr Forrest allegedly told police.

According to court documents, he allegedly accused his mother of using a knife he had purchased off eBay which he kept in his closet.

“I got it out, she wanted me to get it out for her,” Mr Forrest allegedly said.

Police then considered Mr Forrest a suspect and advised him of his rights.

Police allegedly found a bloodstained hunting knife in the kitchen sink.

Both Alex and Lee-Ann were transported to Gladstone Hospital with Mr Forrest transported to Rockhampton Hospital for treatment.

During an interview with police, Mr Forrest allegedly claimed his mother had gathered him and his brother in his brother’s room on April 16 and they all spoke about their lack of a future due to financial difficulties and the likelihood of World War 3, and she convinced them they should all kill themselves.

He allegedly claimed Ms Forrest mixed up paracetamol and gave what she thought would be an overdose to Cameron, however, it just made him feel ill.

According to the court documents Mr Forrest allegedly told police he and his mother then spent the next 24 hours harming themselves but failed to end their own lives.

The court document states Mr Forrest was estranged from his family but has an older brother and sister in Gladstone.

He is unemployed, has no friends or associates and irregularly contacted family by email and had previously lived in Canberra, Townsville and Gracemere.

The court document states the scene and means of death “can only be described as ‘horrific’”.

Ms Forrest was still being treated for her mental health at the time of the affidavit being written.

Her matter was mentioned in Gladstone Magistrates Court today, April 20, where a brief of evidence was ordered and the matter was adjourned until June 14.

She did not apply for bail and was remanded in custody.
