There is no estimated time for when a brief of evidence will be finalised for an accused Central Queensland murderer. Here’s the latest from court.

There is not estimated time for when a brief of evidence will be finalised for a man who allegedly planned a murder-suicide pact with his mother and brother which resulted in his brother’s death, a court has heard.

Alex William Forrest, 20, had his murder charge mentioned in Rockhampton Magistrates Court on June 29.

He and his mother Lee-Ann Rae Forrest, 50, have been charged with the alleged murder of Cameron Paul Forrest, 24, who died on the Easter long weekend.

Police described the scene in Blaxland Court, Glen Eden, on April 17 as “horrific”.

Police prosecutor Acting Sergeant Sarah Rowe requested Mr Forrest’s charge be transferred to the jurisdiction of the alleged crime – Gladstone.

She also advised the court there was no estimated time for when the brief of evidence would be finalised in the matter.

Mr Forrest’s charge was transferred to Gladstone Magistrates Court to be mentioned on July 12, which will be the same day his mother’s murder charge will next be mentioned in that court.

An affidavit prepared by police in Mr Forrest’s proceedings outlined the allegations and why police would object to bail.

The document states Ms Forrest had called Queensland Ambulance Service on April 17 about 12.45pm and when they attended, they called police.

The document stated when police arrived, Ms Forrest allegedly presented herself to them with “outstretched arms by her body showing wounds to both wrists”.

Police located Cameron deceased, lying on a bed in the rear bedroom.

According to the court documents he had “significant lacerations to both wrists, his throat and multiple stab-like wounds to his chest”.

Police said they located Alex Forrest inside and he had difficulty breathing along with significant lacerations to both of his wrists.

Police allegedly found a bloodstained hunting knife in the kitchen sink.
