She manipulated the victim to visit her house while he was trialling living independently.

Crown prosecutor Evan O’Hanlon-Rose said Harrington told the victim he didn’t need to wear a condom and that he should give her the “stuff from his penis” so she could fall pregnant.

Harrington pleaded guilty in the District Court in Gladstone to two counts of unlawful carnal knowledge of a person with an impairment of the mind, part way through a trial.

She had initially pleaded not guilty but changed her plea after the prosecution presented its case.

Harrington was sentenced on September 15, 2021, to four years imprisonment with 16 months of actual incarceration, with the rest suspended for five years.

Criaco was busted for the life-ruining act after the teen victim escaped the clutches of two men and ran to safety.

Police matched DNA on the victim’s body to Criaco after finding a photo which showed him molesting the girl on his phone with the caption “she tastes like fresh milk”, the court heard.

He pleaded guilty on October 12, 2023, to one count of indecent treatment of a child, one of distributing child exploitation material, one of possessing over two grams of a schedule one drug and two counts of possessing a dangerous drug.

Macklin, a former auxiliary firefighter and grandfather, pleaded guilty in the District Court in Rockhampton on May 23 to “grooming a child with intent to expose to indecent matter”.

The court heard he initiated a private online conversation on July 21, 2022, with who he thought was a 13-year-old named Zoe, and 11 months later, was charged.

Crown prosecutor Ryan Minuti said Zoe was a fictitious profile created by a Queensland Police Service officer who pretended to be a 13-year-old girl.

Mr Minuti said Zoe told Macklin she was 13 and “not to get angry”.

“After some discussion, the defendant responded ‘would you get angry if I put my hand in your panties?’,” the court heard.

Chief Judge Brian Devereaux said the exchange between Macklin and Zoe quickly became sexualised and Macklin “sent messages of a disgusting nature considering you were talking to, you thought, a 13-year-old girl”.

Mr Minuti said Macklin repeatedly asked the child what sexual actions she would be “okay with”.

As a result of Macklin’s conviction for grooming a child, he is now a reportable offender for the next 10 years.

Judge Devereaux placed Macklin on an 18-month probation order and no conviction was recorded.
