No charges laid for suspicious house fire on Alma Street

Juveniles were suspected to be involved with the fire however this could not be confirmed by police

A month on since multiple properties were destroyed in a structure fire on Alma Street in Rockhampton City, no charges have yet been laid.

The fire broke out in the building at 108 Alma Street, leased by PureComm, on July 24 around 5.30pm.

The blaze rapidly spread to the abandoned house next door, destroying it.

There was minor explosions in the fire due to gas.

The home had been abandoned and was frequented by squatters.

No one was in the properties during the fire.

Police declared the fire as suspicious and put a call out to the public for any footage or information regarding the fire.

As of Monday August 23, no charges had yet been laid.

There was reports juveniles were involved however police could not confirm this.
