A popular Rockhampton pub has re-opened after undergoing a complete transformation as part of a major renovation.
The Berserker Tavern on the city’s northside opened its doors this week following a three-month shutdown for the major works project.
The Dean Street watering hole now has a new beer garden with outdoor kids’ playground and a renovated bistro, sports bar and gaming room.
The pub is owned by Australian Venue Co., which would not disclose how much was spent on the major revamp project.
“We are so excited to welcome our Rockhampton locals back through our doors,” venue manager Chloe Goodson said.
“The pub has beautiful new spaces that the whole community can enjoy, and we can’t wait to show them off and break them in.”
The beer garden is set to be a social hub for young families with the addition of a nearby outdoor kids’ playground, where patrons can enjoy classic pub snacks and acoustic tunes, complete with big screen TVs for live sport and plenty of shade for all-weather conditions.
While a modern, industrial sports bar will be the perfect spot to catch the latest games with a “knock-off” beverage in hand, welcoming those wanting to watch the action live and loud.
Ms Goodson said guests looking for a delicious meal could enjoy the new-look bistro which offered a cosy and approachable dining space perfect for dinners or large family get-togethers.
She said while quality, mouth-watering steaks were the kitchen’s forte, the menu also served up favourite pub classics alongside a range of new dishes for guests to try and a dedicated kid’s menu.
Ms Goodson said sure to be popular was the Cowboy Cobb Loaf - ideal for sharing and loaded with smoky brisket, bacon, cream cheese, spring onion, mushrooms and mozzarella.
