The case against a Mackay region dad accused of killing his six month old son has been further delayed after the November trial date was delisted this week.

Baby Beau Bradshaw was found unresponsive in an East Mackay home on June 2, 2020, allegedly having suffered traumatic brain and other internal injuries.

His father Ayden Bradshaw was arrested in August 2020 and charged with murder.

Mr Bradshaw’s barrister Scott McLennan told the Supreme Court in Rockhampton on August 28 the defence team was waiting on two reports.

“The defence has briefed two experts,” he said.

“The first is Dr Johan Duflou. He’s a forensic pathologist. He’s estimated he’ll have his report available in about mid-November.

“The second is Dr Jane Edwards, who is a forensic paediatrician. She’s estimated that her report will be available sometime in December.”

Mr McLennan said given those estimated times, the defence sought the trial be delisted.

Crown prosecutor Tiffany Lawrence said the delisting must occur given the time estimates and the Crown would need time to review the defence experts reports, particularly with the Christmas break.

Mr McLennan said it was estimated the trial would take between one and two weeks.

Justice Graeme Crow had raised concerns, during a mention of the matter in July 2023, the experts in this case would not be ready in time for the trial listed to start on November 9.

He ordered, on August 28, the November date be delisted and the matter adjourned to November 20 for another update.

Mr Bradshaw’s bail was extended.
