Five years after a man was stabbed to death in a small Central Queensland town, his attacker is set to face the music after pleading guilty to manslaughter.

Gwenda Lee Brown, 50, is to be sentenced on Wednesday for manslaughter of Bevan John Watson, 43, at Blackwater in 2018.

She entered a plea of not guilty to murder in the Supreme Court in Rockhampton on Friday.

Brown then entered a plea of guilty to manslaughter, which the Crown accepted.

In a bail application heard in the Brisbane Supreme Court on October 9, 2019, the court was told Ms Brown’s partner was stabbed in the groin, stomach and right thigh, and it was the wound to the thigh that was lethal.

The court heard on Friday that the offence took place about March 9, 2018.

Brown’s bail was extended until her sentencing next week.
