Hundreds flock to Anzac Day services, with no covid restrictions for the time in two years, and with special mention of those who have helped during the pandemic, bushfires and floods in Queensland.

Hundreds of people packed the Rockhampton Botanic Gardens on Monday morning to commemorate the 107th anniversary of the Anzacs landing at Gallipoli.
It was the first time in two years locals could gather with near to no covid restrictions, with pubs and gatherings expected to draw crowds around the state.
At the Rockhampton Dawn Service there was special mention to those serving currently who have helped out during the pandemic, bushfires and recent flooding around the state.
While there was no Civic Service in Rockhampton this year, hundreds of people packed the CBD streets for the annual Anzac Day march.
At the Rockhampton ANZAC Day march 9th Battalion AIF Living History Unit member David Bell escorted the flag for the march said this: “We’re just happy to contribute to the day and lend a bit of history to the day.”
Kevin Perfect and Jack Perfect, grandfather and grandson, were marching together.
Grant Burkhardt marched in remembrance of his father who was involved in a war and had passed away.
