The Rockhampton father of a two-month-old baby has been charged with the murder of his daughter who died earlier this year after her death rocked the state.
Tyron Peter Donald Grealy, 20, was charged with one count of murder (domestic violence offence) on January 22.
Police have alleged about 11.15pm on January 19, emergency services were called to a Gracemere property to reports an infant was unconscious and not breathing.
The child sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to Rockhampton Hospital before being airlifted to Brisbane.
The child was pronounced dead days later on January 22.
A haunting image posted to Facebook by Mr Grealy before her death showed the tiny baby wearing a pink romper and patterned bib.
Following investigations, detectives from Rockhampton Child Protection Investigation Unit and specialist police from Crime and Intelligence Command’s Child Trauma Unit arrested and charged a man overnight, on February 18.
He appeared in Rockhampton Magistrates Court today, on February 19.
The matter has been adjourned for three weeks.
He has not been released on bail and must apply for bail in the Supreme Court.
