A court has heard an update in the case of a Gladstone mother accused of stabbing her son to death, allegedly assisted by his brother, on the Easter weekend this year.
Lee-Ann Forrest, 50, and Alex William Forrest, 20, are accused of murdering 24-year-old Cameron Forrest at Blaxland Court, Glen Eden, on April 17.
In Gladstone Magistrates Court on July 12, police prosecutor Kelvin Boyd told Magistrate John Milburn a full-brief of evidence was sent via post on Monday afternoon to the defence, and Mr Boyd sought an adjournment to allow the defence time to view that and seek instructions from its clients.
Court documents state police who attended the residence in Blaxland Court, Glen Eden, described the scene as “horrific” when they located Cameron Forrest deceased on a bed with significant lacerations to his wrists and a large bloodied hunting knife lying in the kitchen sink.
Ms Forrest and Mr Forrest’s matters were adjourned to September 6 for further mention.
