The second half of a duo who stole $1700 worth of products from a Central Queensland Bunnings store has been revealed.

Jessica Kate Rawlings, 40, pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court to stealing, fraud, possessing suspected stolen property, breaching bail, failing to appear in court and contravening a probation order.

The court heard that on October 11 last year, Rawlings and Allen Michael Franklin, 39, attended Bunnings Rockhampton and put $1700 worth of items into a trolley.

The pair left the store through a nursery exit without paying for anything

Rawlings and Franklin then started running while pushing the trolley, and they yelled at the Bunnings workers to “f*** off.”

The workers saw the pair go to a nearby house and that’s where police found them and recovered all of the stolen products, the court heard.

Franklin, with a nine-page criminal history and having committed the Bunnings theft while on suspended sentences, had previously pleaded guilty in the Gladstone court to stealing and he was sentenced to two months’ jail with immediate parole.

In relation to Rawlings’ other offences, the court heard that on November 1, she was given a motorbike by a man and asked to trade it on his behalf.

Rawlings went to Gladstone pawn shop 2nd Life Traders and unlawfully traded the motorbike for $650 - the prosecution sought restitution for that amount.

Rawlings had a two-page criminal history which consisted primarily of drug offending and when she committed these latest offences, she was on probation.

Solicitor Jun Pepito said Rawlings was a mother of seven who’d had issues with drug use.

Magistrate Mary Buchanan revoked the probation order and sentenced Rawlings to three months’ jail, wholly suspended for an operational period of 12 months.

She also fined Rawlings $1500 and ordered she pay $650 restitution.

Convictions were recorded.
