The Burnett Highway has been partially closed following a truck trailer fire at Lawgi Dawes.

Emergency services rushed to the incident which occurred south of Biloela about 10.30am on Friday, June 27.

A Queensland Fire Department spokesman said the trailer was “well involved” when crews got to the scene and that nearby grass had also caught fire.

Five fire crews attended the scene and the fire was brought under control by 12pm.

A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said police initially closed both lanes of the Burnett Highway temporarily, however the eastbound lane has since been reopened.

The fire is not being considered suspicious with initial reports citing a possible popped tyre as the cause of the fire, the QPS spokeswoman said.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said there had been no reports of injuries.
