A spokeswoman for Queensland Ambulance Service said the woman, also in her 60s, had been freed from the vehicle by about 1pm.

She said the man was uninjured and would be taken to hospital as a precaution and the woman was also being transported in a stable condition.

A spokeswoman for Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service said on Wednesday both the man and woman had been discharged from hospital.

The southbound lane was blocked with traffic management in place with one lane of traffic being directed through by police as recovery of the vehicle, which was off the road and down an embankment, took place.
