Cocktails and golf will combine in an exciting new venture in Rockhampton, with plans for an X-Golf venue emerging for the city’s northside.

According to the company’s website, X-Golf Rockhampton is ‘coming soon’, with an address of 331 Yaamba Rd, Park Avenue listed – indicating it will be located in the Stockland Rockhampton precinct.

X-Golf, which has recently opened in Townsville and Toowoomba, markets itself as an entertainment venue with state-of-the-art golf simulators, delicious food and tasty cocktails.

“X-Golf Rockhampton is bringing you indoor golf and entertainment venue unlike anything you’ve seen,” the company’s website reveals.

“Opening seven days a week, we will provide the ultimate golfing and entertainment experience for players of all levels.

“With simulators providing players access to the world’s best digital courses, driving range, practice mode and fun modes. And to top it off, X-Golf Rockhampton will be fully licensed with large full service bar and a delicious food menu.”

While catering for those looking for a bit of fun, X-Golf will also provide for the more serious golfer.

“With golf lessons and X-League you can perfect your skills and compete to become the greatest golfer in the league,” the company states.

“All of this will make us the perfect event or function hire venue for your bucks night, birthday, kids activity, Christmas party, school holiday activity or fundraiser.”

If the Townsville venue is anything to go by, golf fans are in for a treat with the northern site featuring six state-of-the-art simulators with about 50 courses from around the world, including Pebble Beach in the United States and Royal Pines.

In the past week, X-Golf has advertised for an operations manager for the Rockhampton venue, spruiking it as an “opportunity to grow in an exciting and team focused role leading the continued development of the X-Golf brand in Queensland”.

“The key purpose of the role will be to work as a manager and leader in customer service, operational excellence, and marketing presence throughout the Rockhampton location,” a Seek ad for the role read.

“X-Golf Rockhampton is looking for an energetic and enthusiastic manager to help co-ordinate and drive BDM, promotional activities, competitions, and events both in-store and throughout the local area.”

The exciting new venue comes amid a number of entertainment-focused additions to the Stockland Rockhampton precinct in recent years, with Timezone opening in September 2021 and The Bavarian in late 2020, to complement the popular The Terrace dining precinct which opened in 2016.

Plans have also been approved for a major expansion to the centre, with a $45 million project to connect The Terrace with the nearby cinema via a covered walkway with retail shops, built up on a level with a basement carpark.

As part of that project, the existing cinema would have a seventh room with 215 seats added, expected to be of gold-class standard, taking the total number of seats at the cinemas up to 1169.
