A Vietnamese coffee franchise is gearing up for its grand opening at Stockland Rockhampton Shopping Centre this week, promising to provide customers with a “piece of happiness”.
Annee’s Caphê Sua Da, Australia’s first free standing Vietnamese iced coffee bar, opened in Stockland Rockhampton on Tuesday and will celebrate the brand-new store at its official grand opening on Friday.
Marketing coordinator Billie Hennessy said coffee would be free between 8am to 11am, with the first 30 customers taking home a merchandise gift pack.
“It’s the best coffee you will ever have,” she said.
“We’ve got powders, we’ve got syrups. Your wish is our command.
“We can customise it to your exact tastes.
“We can always adjust it to make sure every guest is provided a piece of happiness.
“We’ve had a lot of happy people walk away from the store today.”
Owner and founder Annee Nguyen started from “humble beginnings”, opening her first stall at Rusty’s Market in Cairns in 2014.
Her Vietnamese coffee is described as a “strong coffee with the traditional combination of condensed milk”.
Now 10 years later, the franchise has expanded to its sixth location in Queensland with plans to open two more stores in Yeppoon and Mackay “very soon”.
“This is part of a larger expansion,” Ms Hennessy said.
“It is the first town out of our regular Cairns and Townsville where we have five stores across those two cities.
“It’s a big step but we are very excited.”
Ms Hennessy said Rockhampton customers were “pretty excited” about the new store.
“Some guests have already seen us in Townsville and Cairns so it is like seeing old friends again,” she said.
“There’s obviously always some sceptics because it is a different product to the regular Australian coffee but we have been converting a lot of people.
“It’s always fun to engage with our guests, bring them in, explain what we’re all about and get them to try it.”
The store is located near Big W at Stockland Rockhampton, where the Gloria Jeans coffee shop used to be before it closed in 2022.
Annee’s Caphê Sua Da will be open in Stockland Rockhampton from 8am to 4pm.
