A Vietnamese coffee franchise could be coming to a shopfront near you after they announced three stores in Central Queensland with management and casual jobs up for grabs.
Annee’s Caphê Sua Da started in 2014, when owner Annee Nguyen saw a gap in the North Queensland coffee market to fill with her sweet but strong Vietnamese iced coffee.
Vietnamese coffee differs from the Italian espresso style, as it combines the strong flavoured robusta bean, with sweet condensed milk.
Since opening her first stall at Rusty’s Market in Cairns, Annee has opened four stores in Cairns and Townsville, but now her gaze turns south.
On May 30 a post made to the Annee’s Facebook page announced that Annee’s was coming to Mackay, and just under a month later another post appeared announcing a Rockhampton location.
On July 11, the first job posting for Annee’s Yeppoon location was posted, looking for a store manager, confirming a third store would be opening in the Mackay, Central Queensland regions.
Both the Yeppoon and Rockhampton storefronts are still in need of store managers with a starting salary of $70,000.
Ideal candidates have 3 years of experience in a managerial role as well as customer service or hospitality experience and a driver's license.
The Mackay, Rockhampton and Yeppoon stores are all looking for part time shift leaders and casual team members.
All applicants should have customer service experience and must hold a driver’s license.
Annee’s offers free coffee to employees on shift, as well as 30 per cent discounts to coffee and merchandise.
Job postings for shift leaders describe salaries as “above reward”.
“Hasn’t Arabica reigned long enough?” a post on the Annee’s website reads.
“With over 300,000 Vietnamese people calling Australia their home, it’s now the time to give recognition to a commodity that brings both Vietnamese and Australian cultures together.
“It’s now the time for the world to experience Vietnamese coffee for what it really is.”
