A teenager has been taken to Rockhampton Hospital for treatment after a nasty incident involving a magpie on Thursday afternoon.
A Queensland Ambulance Services spokeswoman confirmed paramedics were called to an incident on Lakes Creek Road, near the corner of Dee Street, about 4.20pm Thursday.
She said a teenage boy riding a bicycle was reportedly being swooped by a magpie when he veered into traffic on the busy stretch and was struck by a vehicle.
The teenager was treated at the scene for a reported arm injury before being taken to Rockhampton Hospital in a stable condition.
QAS paramedics were kept busy on Thursday afternoon, with a single-vehicle crash also reported at Cawarral on Thursday afternoon.
It is understood a driver crashed into a ditch on Cawarral Road about 5.20pm.
His injuries, if any, are unclear at this stage.
