A popular Brisbane restaurant has collapsed into liquidation after nearly ten years of business.
Ze Pickle Fortitude Valley is one of four Queensland locations of the burger franchise with other restaurants in Burleigh Heads, Camp Hill and Brisbane Airport.
The three other Queensland locations are operating as normal.
In a story post to Instagram on Wednesday evening, Ze Pickle announced that the Fortitude Valley outlet was closing “due to unforeseen circumstances” while a notice on the door of the building said it was closing “due to maintenance issues”.
The Fortitude Valley restaurant has already been removed from the location tab on Ze Pickle’s website.
First opening in 2012 in Burleigh Heads by Nathan Zuckerman, Aaron Wilson and Joseph Day, the franchise quickly gained popularity for their over-the-top, Insta-worthy creations.
Their menu includes the $69 monster STFU burger featuring three Wagyu beef patties, triple jack cheese, triple maple smoked pecan, pecan wood smoked brisket, iceberg, tomato, ZP sauce, smoked jalapeños and slaw on the top half and crispy fried chicken fillet, pecan wood smoked brisket, mac n cheese, lettuce and tomato on the bottom.
According to a report lodged with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission, Lee Crosthwaite of Worrells Brisbane has been appointed as liquidator.
