Camp Hill burger joint serves up ‘absurd’ $69 monster burger
A burger that costs $69 might seem crazy, but you will be blown away when you find out what this Brisbane bun creation is made from.

There are burgers with “the lot”, then there’s the Kanye’s Mum at Camp Hill eatery Ze Pickle, in Brisbane’s south.
This monster jaw dislocator referencing the controversial rapper packs a 150g beef patty, maple bacon, fried cheese sticks, smoked jalapenos, fries, American cheese, truffle butter and multiple sauces inside a sesame seed-studded bread roll and is so colossal it has to be held together with a pickle-studded skewer.
It’s as ridiculous to eat as the name itself, with a mouth the size of Kanye’s needed to get anywhere close to a proper bite.
But for all its extravagance, ludicrously it’s actually quite delicious.
It should come as no surprise really, with
Ze Pickle winning over fans with its histrionic bun creations for more than a decade now, after first launching on the Gold Coast in 2012.
Long before posting your lunch on social media became “a thing”, the business has been attracting attention with its insane concoctions designed to blow minds and wastelines.
The biggest of which is the STFU – Shut the f--k up – and it will certainly do just that featuring two burgers in one, including the Kanye’s Mum and the Triple Loco, with three 150g beef patties, American cheese, bacon, sauce, smoked jalapenos, fried onion straws, slaw and two grilled sandwiches.
It almost seems like a bargain at $69 given it could probably feed a family of five.
While absurdity is clearly part of the appeal at Ze Pickle, it’s not all about dishes designed to have you knocking on death’s door.
There are 21 burgers to choose from including the seemingly healthy (in comparison) baja fish taco version with beer-battered snapper, pineapple coriander salsa and slaw; or the vegetarian That Vego Friend starring a plant-based patty, fried onion straws, sauce and cheese, or the relatively low-key Chew by Chew with two beef patties, cheese, bacon and sauce.
There is also a handful of snacks to start diners off including mac ’n’ cheese, chicken wings, popcorn shrimp and some seriously good beer-battered sweet potato fries ($12.50).
They also serve desserts that continue their love affair with quirky monikers, like the Darrell Lee’s Dead and the #WHOTHEF---WASMAXBRENER (sic), but after eating a week’s worth of calories in a single burger, I’m not really sure how many people actually have the stomach capacity left to order these.
What customers will need to leave digestive dimensions for, however, is the venue’s fun signature cocktails such as the Big Johnson, Hood Juice, Bubba Hubba Bubba or the Sour Patch Margarita featuring tequila infused with Sour Patch gummies and a sugar gummy ring.
There’s a decent list of wines and a strong focus on local and craft beer that would go down a treat with Kanye’s Mum (the burger not the human), plus milkshakes that can also be spiked with alcohol for adults.
Our teetotaller-friendly Oreo-licious shake ($8.50) is a winner with the Mash Mash City Bish burger ($21.50), which is like the hybrid of a drunken mission to KFC and McDonald’s featuring juicy fried chicken, American cheese, mash potato, gravy, mayo and fries inside a golden, toasted bun.
In a world where there’s a burger joint on almost every corner, Ze Pickle has found its niche in the absurd and it’s a fun place to be.
