Man taken to hospital in serious condition following crash with tree

A man suffered serious injuries after the vehicle he was in crashed into a tree southwest of Caboolture overnight.

Critical care paramedics responded to the incident at 12.41am Sunday after two men in their 30s crashed into a tree.

The single vehicle crash occurred on Old North Road and Bellmere Road at Rocksberg.

One male who was initially trapped in the vehicle, was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a serious condition with leg injuries. 

The second male was taken to Caboolture Hospital in a stable condition with chest injuries.

A Police Media spokeswoman said they will be investigating the cause of the crash.

The crash comes after a man was flown out of the Scenic Rim with serious injuries after he was reportedly trapped underneath a quad bike.

The 57-year-old sustained serious injuries including burns to his face and hands on a property on Mt Barney Rd at Barney View, around 35 minutes south west of Beaudesert, about 11.15pm Saturday.

Also on Saturday night, a man in his 30s was flown to hospital in a serious condition after falling from a buggy on Acacia Drive on a Whitsunday island.

The man suffered a head injury in the fall on Hamilton Island just after midnight.

The Queensland Ambulance Service assessed just the one patient at the scene on Acacia Dr.

He was flown to Townsville University Hospital.
