After three years in Mackay and the Whitsundays the operators of a popular food truck has decided that it’s time to move on.

The Let’z Waffle waffle van, owned and operated by Aaron and Christina Townsend since 2015, is now for sale to a “Travelling spirit”.

Before coming to Mackay, the Let’z Waffle van was a travelling business.

Starting in 2015 in Western Australia, the Townsends travelled across the country before settling down in Mackay in 2020.

From June 2023, the business has had a lease on a space at the Whitsunday Food Garden, where they’ve been the purveyors of waffles both sweet and savoury, milkshakes, coffee and ice cream.

However, after eights years of running Let’z Waffle, the Townsends have sent out a call for someone to take up the dessert scented torch and take over the business.

“(The food truck) has been a pleasure to work with and stand by, in all our adventures together,” they said.

Let’z Waffle’s Facebook page has more than 21,000 followers from the towns and cities they’ve visited in Australia.

“Let’z Waffle loves travelling.”

The Townsends, while hoping prospective buyers will continue their tradition of moving the business around Australia, have also allowed for the possibility for new owners to remain established at the Airlie Beach location.

“There is currently a unique opportunity to continue the lease in Airlie Beach.”

The couple are seeking offers above $55,000 and encourage any who are interested in taking on their business, to reach out to them via their Facebook page.

“Is the waffle life for you to command, conquer and pursue?”
