Mackay Regional Council has approved Bayswater Holding’s application to build a Sydney Tools in Paget selling exclusively to tradespersons just metres away from the existing Bunnings.
The store will service the construction, mining, agriculture and automotive industries stocking major brands such as Milwaukee, Makita, Dewalt, Hikoki, Festool, Paslode, Ramset, Husqvarna, Stanley, Fein, UniMig and Cigweld.
A house and some sheds will be removed to make way for the 2775sq m development just metres away from Bunnings at 157 Archibald St and includes left-in and left-out entry and exit points with 51 customer carparks.
The first Sydney Tools store opened in 2001 with documents stating it had grown into one of Australia’s largest wholesalers of industrial tools, consumables and accessories as the market leader in electrical, construction, plumbing and carpentry.
The company stated it held 70 million products with a range available both online and instore including petrol, diesel, silent and three-phase generators, welders and accessories, scaffolds, jumping jacks, trash pumps, 1in wrenches, laser levels, commercial vacuum cleaners, electric, diesel and water pressure washers, air compressors and petrol commercial and electrical steamers.
Sydney Tools has eight other Queensland stores including seven in southeast Queensland and one in Townsville.
