Police are on the lookout for a mystery man after an attempted robbery involving a 12-year-old boy at Mount Pleasant.
It is alleged the child had been sitting inside Mount Pleasant shopping centre when a man approached him and tried to snatch his wallet about 1pm.
It is further alleged the incident resulted in a physical altercation from which the older man ran away.
Officers are calling for anyone with information about the incident or the person pictured to come forward and speak with investigators.
“It is alleged a man approached a boy, who was seated in the business, and attempted to steal his wallet,” Senior Constable Stephen Smith said in a police statement.
“It is further alleged a physical altercation occurred however, the boy was able to retain his wallet and the man fled on foot.”
It is unknown if the mystery man is alleged to have committed the attempted robbery, as the police statement says they believe the mystery man “can assist with this investigation”.
