Police, paramedics called to a serious assault on Kippen St in South Mackay

Police have cordoned off a major thoroughfare in the incident and the dog squad has been called.

Police and paramedics have been called to a serious assault in South Mackay.

Police received reports of a disturbance at 11.50am on Kippen St.

It is understood one person has been assaulted.

At least one ambulance is at the scene and the police have cordoned off the intersection at Goldsmith and Kippen St.

The dog squad is also on scene.
