Man charged after allegedly driving backwards down street with weapons in car

A man has been charged with multiple offences after police allegedly caught him reversing down a street while four times over the legal limit with weapons in his car.

A man has been charged after he was pulled over allegedly driving the wrong way down the street while over the limit with multiple weapons.

Sarina police issued the 26-year-old Grasstree Beach man with a notice to appear in court, after the alleged incident on December 7.

Police said at 12.37pm mobile patrols observed a vehicle reversing along Central St against the flow of traffic.

Police allegedly pulled the car over before conducting breath testing.

It’s alleged the officers found and seized multiple weapons from the man’s car and pockets.

He allegedly recorded a breath alcohol concentration of 0.203.

The man is scheduled to appear in the Sarina Magistrates Court on January 12, charged with driving without due care and attention, driving without a current licence, unlawful possession of a knife in a public place, unlawful possession of a category M weapon and driving while under the influence.
