Man, woman seriously injured in Bruce Highway rollover at Bakers Creek
Police are investigating after a vehicle and trailer crashed off a bridge and onto a river bank, initially closing the Bruce Highway in both directions.

Police are on scene at a serious highway crash where a vehicle and trailer has come off a bridge and rolled down a river bank south of Mackay
As a result the Bruce Highway were closed in both directions at Bakers Creek as Mackay’s Forensic Crash Unit investigates the scene.
About 3.30am a 4WD towing a trailer northbound on the highway has crashed through the guardrail at Bakers Creek bridge and crashed and rolled on the river bank trapping a couple in their 50s in the wreckage for some time.
The pair were seriously injured and taken to Mackay Base Hospital – a man suffered head and chest injuries and a woman suffered chest injuries.
Police and paramedics were called to the scene.
It is understood the bridge is missing about 10 to 15 metres of guardrail.
Both lanes of the highway have since reopened.
The crash at Bakers Creek occurred about three and a half hours after a fatal crash at Kuraby just after midnight that claimed the life of a 30-year-old man died.
Police say the vehicle the man was driving westbound on Beenleigh Rd left the road and crashed into a light pole near Pioneer Dr. He died at the scene.
It came in a horror 36 hours on South East Queensland roads, with a 12-year-old boy critically injured in Brisbane’s east on Thursday morning, while a motorcyclist was killed on the Warrego Hwy at Dinmore and a Coorparoo man was killed in a crash at Highgate Hill, both on Wednesday night.
