Bruce Highway crash: Collision between truck, sedan at St Lawrence

Police are calling for help from the public after a crash between a truck and sedan closed part of the Bruce Highway between Mackay and Rockhampton for several hours.

Police are calling for dashcam footage after a crash between a truck and sedan closed part of the Bruce Highway between Mackay and Rockhampton for about five hours.

The collision occurred about 9.30pm Saturday at St Lawrence and involved a Mitsubishi Lancer (pictured) and truck.

As a result the highway had reduced lanes while clean-up of the location ensured.

The highway was completely reopened by 2.30am Sunday.

A QAS spokesperson said paramedics were called to the scene where a man suffered minor injuries.

The driver and sole occupant of the Mitsubishi, a 42-year-old Russell Island man, was taken to Mackay Base Hospital in a stable condition with minor injuries.

While the driver and sole occupant of the truck, a 51-year-old Innisfail man, was not physically injured.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed or has dashcam footage of the incident, or the vehicles driving on the highway anywhere between Rockhampton and St Lawrence prior to the crash, to come forward.

Investigations into the crash are ongoing.
