Teen falls 20m at Springsure swimming hole

Paramedics were involved in at least an eight-hour rescue mission after a teenager fell about 20 metres at a Central Queensland swimming hole.

He had been with two other teen boys when the incident occurred about 8.28pm on Friday.

The trio had been at a swimming hole at Falls Creek Rd and Stinger Lane at Springsure.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesperson said one of the boys, in his late teens, fell about 20 metres “sustaining back, neck and ankle injuries”.

The two other teen boys were uninjured.

Paramedics were called and began a protracted vertical overnight rescue mission.

All three were rescued by first light Saturday and taken to Springsure Hospital in a stable condition.
