Ayden Jedd Bradshaw is charged with murder over six-month-old son Beau’s death

New court details in the case against a Queensland man accused of killing his baby son have come to light.

Mackay detectives have been prompted to find and interview witnesses regarding the case of allegedly murdered baby Beau Bradshaw, as new details about the upcoming trial come to light.

Crown prosecutor Tiffany Lawrence told a Mackay court the consideration of medical evidence linked to the case was ongoing.

In 2020 police arrested Ayden Jedd Bradshaw and charged him with murder over the death of his six-month-old son.

Baby Beau was found unresponsive at his East Mackay home on June 2, 2020 and died two days later.

Following his arrest, Mr Bradshaw remained in custody on remand until he was granted bail on strict conditions in December 2022.

More than four years since his death the case is still proceeding through the courts and is listed for trial in November.

Mackay Supreme Court on Thursday heard Ms Lawrence was still considering a submission from Mr Bradshaw’s barrister Scott McLennan.

“As part of that, a large amount of subpoenaed material was received and has been reviewed,” Ms McLennan said.

“That has resulted in there being the need for some further investigation, given some of the content of that.”

Ms Lawrence told the court she had spoken to Mr Bradshaw’s arresting officer “and it’s hoped that the matters can be clarified with witnesses” in the next two weekends.

“There’s just a little uncertainty about the location of a witness, but they expect that that is a realistic estimate,” she said.

“The consideration of the medical evidence is otherwise still under way.”

Matters have been adjourned to a date in August for mention.
