Alligator Creek man charged with wounding, assault over Sarina pub fight
A young man is in custody after two men were involved in an argument that turned violent during Saturday night drinks at a pub.

An Alligator Creek man is in custody charged with wounding and assault following an alleged alcohol-fuelled violent glassing at a Mackay region pub.
The incident occurred on Saturday night about 10.55pm at the Tandara Hotel Motel at Sarina.
Mackay District Detective Acting Inspector Chris Eaton said police would allege there was an argument between two men that escalated.
“Police will allege … the offender has struck the victim in the face with a glass and decamped,” Detective Inspector Eaton said.
The victim was a 38-year-old man from Morayfield. As a result a 21-year-old Alligator Creek man was arrested.
He is charged with one count each of wounding, assault causing bodily harm and being a public nuisance.
The maximum penalty for the wounding and assault charges is seven years jail if convicted.
He is in custody and expected to appear in Mackay Magistrates Court on Monday.
